Impressly v2, built for scale

AI headshots started with a simple promise: make professional photography faster and more affordable.

For early adopters, that was enough. A company could avoid studio bookings, travel, scheduling loops, and retouching rounds. Employees could upload their own photos. The economics were obvious.

But the tradeoff was just as obvious. The results were useful, but not always dependable: potentially overly polished outputs, missing the subject's natural expression... Good enough for internal directory, but not yet to replace a real company photoshoot.

In other words, AI headshots were often a cost arbitrage. They were chosen when speed and price mattered more than the risk of visual inconsistency.

But that is no longer the right frame.

The newest generation of image models has narrowed the quality gap with traditional photography in a way that changes the product category. This moves AI beyond the "cheaper option" frame. For distributed companies, large teams, and fast hiring cycles, it becomes the more practical option: high-fidelity, centrally controlled, easy to repeat, and flexible enough to keep every employee aligned with the same visual standard.

Impressly v2 is built around that shift.

From Useful Outputs To Studio-Grade Systems

The biggest change is that the whole photoshoot workflow now requires less friction, while giving companies more creative control without adding studio-level cost.

Earlier systems needed more source material and stricter capture rules. Employees had to provide several photos, ideally from different days, angles, and lighting conditions, so the model had enough signal to understand the person. That created a hidden operational cost: more instructions, more failed uploads, more resubmissions, and more variability across the team.

With Impressly v2, the input burden drops dramatically. A few strong selfies can now carry enough identity signal to generate polished, realistic, company-ready headshots. The model is better at preserving likeness, following detailed photographic direction, and producing natural texture, lighting, and depth.

The quality trail: fewer inputs, sharper identity preservation, and studio-grade output.

That matters because professional headshots work inside a broader brand system. Professional headshots live across LinkedIn, sales pages, investor decks, internal directories, recruiting flows, press kits, and company websites. The real standard is consistency: every image should feel like it belongs to the same brand.

The Photoshoot Becomes A Brand Profile

Traditional photoshoots are constrained by physics (and logistics...). You choose a studio, a backdrop, a photographer, a calendar slot, and a retouching style. If your team is spread across offices or time zones, consistency gets harder. If new employees join every month, the shoot is never really finished.

Impressly v2 turns that process into a reusable brand profile.

Admins can define the photoshoot once: approved backgrounds, attire options, output shape, framing, and visual direction. They can curate a classic corporate look, generate new backdrop and attire presets from plain language, or create several options for different departments and seniority levels.

They can also own the creative direction. The playground lets teams generate, tune, and save background or attire ideas as reusable brand assets instead of treating the photoshoot look as a one-time production choice.

That makes brand-level experimentation practical. A company can test a warmer studio look, a sharper executive profile, a softer founder-led style, or a more editorial team page without organizing a new shoot from scratch.

What used to be limited by budget, calendars, and physical production becomes much closer to a creative decision.

Built For Teams & Entreprise

The operational layer is just as important as the image model.

For employers, Impressly v2 introduces a proper dashboard for company photoshoot management. Teams can invite employees, track completion, monitor who is ready, manage follow-ups, and approve official headshots from one workspace.

For employees, the flow stays simple. They upload a small set of selfies (3), review their generated outputs, select the image they prefer, and use creative edits when they want more control. They can swap approved attire or backgrounds, describe a change in plain language, or apply a more targeted brush edit.

The balance is deliberate: employees get choice, but inside the company standard. The brand remains coherent without making every person feel identical.

That is the real advantage of AI headshots at scale. The output is personal, but the system is coordinated.

A Better Option For Teams That Keep Moving

The old question was whether AI could make headshots cheaper.

The better question is whether a traditional photoshoot can match the speed, consistency, and creative control of a system built for every employee, every office, and every new hire.

For small teams, the answer may still depend on preference. For companies with distributed offices, growing headcount, frequent hiring, or a strong need for brand consistency, the calculus has changed.

Set the brand profile. Invite the team. Track completion. Approve the official headshots. Repeat whenever the company grows.

Impressly v2 is our answer to this new reality: a professional AI photoshoot platform that scales with your team needs.
